ReCold is operated by World Wellness Labs Ltda. (“ReCold,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), a limited liability company (sociedade limitada) registered in Brazil under CNPJ 68.160.844/0001-33, with registered office at Av. Rebouças, 2581 - Pinheiros, São Paulo - SP, 05401-300, Brazil. ReCold is a contrast-therapy app that helps you track and record your sauna and ice bath sessions across our mobile apps (iOS and Android) and our website.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using ReCold you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the ReCold mobile applications, our website, and related features and services (together, the “Services”) operated by World Wellness Labs Ltda. (CNPJ 68.160.844/0001-33). It describes how we handle personal information when you use the Services. It does not apply to third-party products or services that have their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information we collect automatically, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

Account & profile information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google’s or Apple’s authentication service. We never receive or store your Google or Apple password. You can also add or edit a display name, a username, a profile photo, and your country.
Session data. The contrast-therapy sessions you record — round type (sauna or ice bath), duration, temperature, start time, session name and notes, how you felt during a session, and the weekly goals and achievements associated with your activity.
Photos and videos. Any photos or videos you capture or upload for a session, and any profile photo you upload. This media is stored on our infrastructure (Firebase Storage) under your account.
Communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support.

Information collected automatically

Location information. If you enable location, we collect your approximate location to power location-based features — building your map of saunas and ice baths, discovering spots and people near you, and rankings. Location is off by default and only collected when you turn it on; you can disable it at any time in the app.
Usage & device information. Device type, operating system, app version, and how you interact with the Services, collected through Firebase Analytics to help us understand and improve the app.
Cookies and similar technologies. When you use our website, we and our providers use cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 5.

Information from third parties

Sign-in providers. We receive basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) from Google or Apple when you use them to sign in, as described above.

Payment information

When you subscribe to ReCold Premium, your payment is processed by the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) or our payment processor. We receive your subscription status — for example, whether your subscription is active and which plan you hold — but do not receive or store your full payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and operate the Services — authenticate you, associate your data with your account, and store and display your session history and stats.
Provide your media back to you for viewing, download, and sharing.
Enable social features — let you share sessions with people you choose, discover people and venues near you (when you enable location), display verified badges, and show rankings.
Manage your subscription — provide ReCold Premium features and confirm your subscription status.
Personalize your experience — weekly goals, achievements, and session recaps.
Send notifications — including push notifications (for example, when someone shares a session with you), which you can control through your device settings.
Understand and improve the Services — using aggregated and analytics data (via Firebase Analytics).
Provide support and respond to your requests.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

With other users. Depending on your privacy settings, other users may see your profile (display name, username, photo, verified badge), the sessions you choose to share, and your presence at venues (if you enable “Discoverable to others”). You control this through in-app privacy settings, including turning off location, discoverability, and public leaderboards, and blocking specific users.
With service providers. We share information with vendors that operate the Services on our behalf — most notably Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and analytics), and the app stores or payment processors that handle subscriptions. These providers process data under our instructions and are subject to Google’s privacy practices where applicable.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of ReCold, our users, or others.

5. Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies

On our website, we and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, and analytics (including Firebase Analytics). Our mobile apps do not use browser cookies but rely on device identifiers and analytics SDKs for similar purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings and limit analytics through your device settings; disabling some of these technologies may affect how the Services function.

6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate information.
Delete your information.
Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, location).

You can exercise many of these choices directly in the app — edit your profile, change your privacy settings, block users, delete individual sessions, or delete your entire account. To exercise any right, you can also contact us at privacy@recold.app; we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law — 15 days for access requests under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD), and one month under the EU/UK GDPR.

7. Children’s Privacy

ReCold is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@recold.app and we will delete it.

8. Additional Important Privacy Information

Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures. All data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, and access to your media and data is restricted to your authenticated account through Firebase Security Rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We retain your account information, session data, and media for as long as your account remains active. Depending on your subscription plan, some of your older media or history may not be displayed in the app, but it remains stored and is not deleted while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all associated data, including media, within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.

For individuals in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Brazil and Other Regions

World Wellness Labs Ltda. (CNPJ 68.160.844/0001-33) is the controller of your personal information, which we process in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU/UK GDPR and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD). We rely on the following legal bases: to perform our contract with you (providing the Services), your consent (for example, location), our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Services), and to comply with legal obligations. Because we use service providers such as Google Firebase, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States; where required, such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Brazil, the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

9. Notice For Individuals Residing In Certain US States

If you reside in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others), you may have additional rights, including the right to access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. ReCold does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@recold.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Privacy Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
